Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment - Patients and Public Survey

Closed 24 Mar 2022

Opened 21 Feb 2022

Overview

We want your views on local pharmacy services (with a chance to enter a prize draw for a £50 gift voucher to a local restaurant)

We’re carrying out this survey to help us understand your views on local pharmacy services.

Pharmacies provide over-the-counter medicines, as well as dispensing medication that GPs prescribe. Local pharmacists can also offer health advice and information.

Whether you live, work or are a visitor to the borough, your views are important to us.  Your input will help us work out where there are gaps in services and how we can improve people’s experiences of using local pharmacy services.

Prize Draw

There is an opportunity for anyone who completes this survey to be entered into a prize draw, where the winner will receive a £50 gift voucher for a local restaurant in Southwark. To be considered for this please leave your email when you finish the survey.

Read results of previous surveys into pharmacy services

You can read the results of a similar pharmacy services survey in 2018. We then produced a report on how the pharmacy services needed to meet the borough’s needs in 2018-2021.

Contact us if you have questions about the survey

Our public health team are running this survey.  It's confidential and takes about 15 minutes to complete.  Give your email address if you would like a pdf copy of your responses.  This survey closes at 11:59pm on 24 March 2022.  If you’d like to contact us about this survey, email publichealth@southwark.gov.uk or call 020 7525 5000. We will publish the results of this survey on this consultation hub by the end of May 2022, and the full report will be available in October 2022.

Why your views matter

Your views and experience will help us improve local pharmacy services.

After your feedback in 2018, we aimed to keep the quality of our pharmacy services high, and to possibly extend opening hours.

In this survey we want to know if:

  • we have managed to keep services to a good standard
  • improvements increased the quality of your local pharmacy services
  • there have been changes to your pharmacy services over the last few years – particularly around accessibility
  • the COVID-19 pandemic has affected services.

What happens next

We will gather and analyse the information from this survey in April 2022.  A separate survey aimed at pharmacy businesses will also be analysed. That same month we will then produce on the findings from this survey that will be presented to the Health and Wellbeing Board.

We will give you feedback on the results of this survey and how we have used your views to shape our plans to improve pharmacy services. We will be in touch with you by email (please don’t forget to leave your email address with us) and through the council's project webpage by the end of May 2022.
