Wells Way Triangle

Closed 30 Jun 2016

Opened 12 May 2016

Overview

Camberwell has been identified as a priority area for flood risk alleviation following investigations conducted by Southwark Council since 2011.

The team explored different ways of reducing the flood risk and has concluded the most effective way of protecting residents from flooding is by installing measures either at the property or street level.

Flooding in Turney Road - April 2004

Why your views matter

Camberwell is located in a low lying area. It is also densely built up with limited green spaces for storm water to enter the ground or be stored.

This combined with limited capacity in Thames Water's sewer network (see map below) creates a situation where storm water and/or sewerage could enter people's homes in a severe storm.

We need as many residents as possible to support this flood alleviation project so that we are able to secure funding for it.

If you would like your property to be protected please see the attached information and complete the attached form with your details.
