Shape the plans to improve Little Dorrit Park and the Peace Garden

We want to hear your views on draft design proposals to shape improvements to Little Dorrit Park and the Peace Garden.

Design Option One Plan

Design Option Two Plan

Little Dorrit Design Ideas document

We have consulted with people previously to find out what improvements they would like to see in the park.  The views and ideas of people who responded were considered, and design options for the park were produced, which include:

  • Improving the play equipment for children of all ages, and consideration of new equipment including natural play
  • Creation of new planted areas, wildlife areas and improvement of the condition of the grass
  • Better layout of the spaces, to improve pedestrian routes and sightlines
  • Improved fencing
  • Better access to and from the High Street
  • Improved hard surfacing;

A summary of the views and ideas are included in the consultation report here.

This consultation is open to anyone who lives, works or visits the borough.  We want to know what you think about the design options by completing this online survey.

Why your views matter

We are doing a consultation on the suggested designs and improvements to park, play and landscape areas, to improve the quality and increase use of the park and to make it more appealing for everyone.

This second consultation provides two design options, which have been shaped by the opinions gathered during the first consultation phase.

It is important that local people have a chance to tell us what they think and we welcome your feedback on the design ideas.

What happens next

At each step of the way will update you by email (providing you have given us your email address in the survey). The findings from this consultation will be published on the project webpage, shared with BOST, stakeholders and Ward Councillors. The results will be used to shape the final design plans.

Construction of the new park is currently programmed to commence in summer 2023.
