Tustin Estate Rebuilding Phase 1 Block Names

Closed 10 Aug 2023

Opened 20 Jul 2023

Overview

Help us pick great new names for new buildings

In May 2023 the majority of residents on the Tustin Estate voted to name the blocks built as part of the Tustin Estate Rebuilding project.

Over the last few weeks at the Tustin drop-ins and resident meetings we've been asking people's help to narrow down a long list of lake and town names that come from Cumbria.

We now have a shortlist of names ,and want your help to decide what we call the new buildings that will be built in Phase 1.  In Phase 1 of the Tustin Estate Rebuilding project, there are three new buildings that need new names:

  1. Block G1 (the new building in front of Heversham House)
  2. The Over 55s Block (where the Hillbeck Close block was)
  3. The other part of Block C (where Ullswater House was)

There are also new homes being build in Manor Grove (referred to as Block D). Once completed the new homes will not have a seperate block name.  They will instead have addresses on Manor Grove.

You can also join us in person to vote at our drop in (27 July) or coffee morning (1 August) sessions on the estate.  Have a look at the bottom of this page for more information.

This consultation is only open to people who live or work on the Tustin Estate in Southwark.  Our construction team at the council are running this consultation.  We look forward to hearing from you by the closing date of Tuesday 10 August 2023.

Why your views matter

The three new buildings that need names being built in Phase 1 of the Tustin Estate are just the first of many that will be built during the course of the low rise blocks being rebuilt.

We want your help to pick great new names for the new buildings.

What happens next

Once we know which names residents would like for the new blocks, we have to submit them to be checked by London Fire Brigrade. If they approve the new name we will use it for the new blocks. If they don't approve the name we will submit the second choice name for approval.

We will inform the Resident Project Group of the approved list of names, 10th September 2023.  We will also use local estate newsletter, noticeboards and email people who have provided their email address, to give timely feedback.
