Green Dale Streets for People Proposals

Overview

Let us know your thoughts about proposals to improve the path on Green Dale.

During our Streets for People conversation, many people have told us that Green Dale can be hard for people walking and cycling to navigate, with frequent safety issues for different users of the path. We asked Wheels for Wellbeing to produce a report on accessibility on this path, which is attached below.

We are proposing to widen the path and introduce segregated cycling and walking paths along this popular route. There will be improved signage on the approach to junctions, and we will use different surface materials to alert cyclists of places where there may be people walking. We are also planning to install an additional lamp column to improve visibility on the path.

We will also add sinusoidal (sloped) speed humps on the road and resurface it.

We think this will make this route safer and more accessible for all journey types. However, please let us know what you think and whether there are any details we could improve.
