Community Legal Advice Services Survey

Closed 17 Mar 2024

Opened 12 Feb 2024

Overview

Southwark Council has been committed to supporting universal, free at point of access legal advice for residents experiencing issues with benefits, housing, immigration and other social welfare areas for many years. In addition to Council provided services, the Council also contracts to support residents with independent, community-based services. These services are divided into two contracts:

  • The generalist service, which supports residents to identify issues and provides information, advice and (where relevant) signposting/referral to specialist services
  • The specialist service, which supports residents with complex advice, casework and legal representation

Both contracts are due to end in March 2025. We intend to recommission these services, but before we do we want to find out what advice services you would like to have in place.

Why your views matter

This consultation will inform our next steps in designing the future of these services. Your responses provide valuable insight into what services should be provided, how they should be provided and how to support people to access them.

Thank you in advance for your time. If you would like more information on these services or the contracts, please contact us using the email address or phone number listed.
