Tell us what you think about plans for a new cycle route (Cycle 35) along Peckham Rye between Nunhead Lane and Stuart Road.
The whole route will eventually continue to Brockley Mews, but in this phase we are just looking at the section on Peckham Rye.
This section will include an off-road two-way cycle lane for the length of Peckham Rye, with tactile paving at crossings to encourage people cycling to slow and look out for people walking.
There will be raised road surfaces at all the road junctions to encourage cars to slow and provide even surfaces for people walking and cycling as well as raised zebra crossings.
In order to meet the minimum road width required for cycle safety, and maintain pavement space, we're planning to remove parking along Peckham Rye.

This new route forms part of Southwark's ambitious Streets for People strategy, which aims to transform street spaces in Southwark, designing them around the needs of people, not cars.

Subject to approval, we would expect the first section of this scheme to start construction in Autumn 2024.
