Old Kent Road Social Regeneration Charter

Closed 17 Sep 2019

Opened 16 Aug 2019

Overview

Southwark Council is determined to ensure that regeneration in our borough works for everyone. This means that regeneration projects must reduce inequalities in health, housing, social and economic opportunity. That’s why we’re creating a Social Regeneration Charter for Old Kent Road.

In line with our ambition to ensure regeneration reduces health, housing, social and economic inequalities, we have three overarching goals for the Old Kent Road area.

Our regeneration goals for Old Kent Road are to:

1. Help people lead healthier and better connected lives

2. Provide good quality, affordable homes, facilities and green spaces

3. Build a strong local economy with support for businesses and opportunities for local people

Why your views matter

We want to find out if you agree with these goals, if there is anything you would like to add, and what are the things that need to be done to help us achieve these.

What happens next

We will prepare a draft social regernation charter for Old Kent Road which will be taken to Cabinet on 17 September. We will consult on this draft version  during the Autumn.
