11,000 New Council Homes - Woodland Road
Results updated 29 Jun 2020
The Council remains committed to working with residents on our programme during this period of uncertainty and will follow the advice issued by Central Government as to the precautionary measures and action to take to ensure that residents, staff, and partners are protected from the Covid-19 (Coronavirus).
For the foreseeable future we are adapting the way we consult to remove unnecessary social contact. We will:
- Consult you about the best way to communicate with you (when necessary)
- Keep you informed via the Consultation Hub
- Continue to liaise with the Tenants and Resident Associations (TRA)
- Continue to write to you directly via post or email
- Depending on Central’s Government advice about Covid-19 on when it is possible to do so, arrange face to face meetings

Overview
We've committed to build 11,000 new council homes across Southwark by 2043 - 2,500 of these by 2022. It's a big goal, but crucial if we're going to tackle the housing crisis and make sure our residents have quality homes they can be proud of, now and in the future.
Throughout the design and development of all our new council homes, we work closely with residents and the local community to help shape the way we do things, so your feedback is important to us.
Woodland Road estate
We are considering developing new council homes at the corner of Gipsy Hill and Woodland Road, for local residents who are in housing need.
The map below shows the indicative area of council land on which we may develop in consultation with local residents.
Why your views matter
It is really important to us that we work with existing residents when building new council homes in Southwark. We want to hear what you think about the proposal to build on this site. Your feedback is very important and will be used to develop the plans for this site. Please raise your concerns and comments with the project manager, Emma Gittus.
