Highway Infrastructure Asset Management Plan (HIAMP) Consultation

Closed 3 Sep 2017

Opened 11 Aug 2017

Overview

Currently, our standards of maintenance and care for highways, its drainage and street furniture are set out in different documents. They have evolved over time to address problems and urgent repairs. We want to change our approach so more of our works are part of a planned maintenance scheme, rather than spend money reacting to reports of defects. We think this will offer better value for money.

To help us do this we are developing a single strategy to bring together:

  • Flood risk
  • Winter maintenance
  • Road maintenance standards
  • Inspection frequencies
  • How we report on road conditions
  • And other policies that effect how we spend on our roads

We want to know what you think about our overall approach to highways in our new draft strategy and if there is anything else you would like to be included in the plan we have developed for managing our roads and streets.

Why your views matter

The first step in the process is to consult on the draft plan and to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to have their say. You can view the plan here

What happens next

All comments and suggestions received will be considered to help inform our next steps. However we are unable to respond personally to specific issues raised. If you have a repair to report please contact Graeme Lake on 0207 525 1271. Once we have analysed the results we aim to prepare a report with recommendations for Cabinet by Friday 15th September 2017.
