We asked

Walworth Town Hall was damaged by a fire in 2013. We asked what you thought of our proposed design for the new Walworth Town Hall.

You said

The feedback stated that a lot of thought went into the stage one design which reflected an overall sense of community. It also stated that design achieved the vision for the redevelopment as it integrated the different functions of the building, the new building design with the original features of the building, and the main entrance with the new Walworth Square.

We did

Unfortunately, the cost of refurbishing the building increased beyond our budget. We carried out a second consultation to find out how you thought we should proceed. We are currently looking into a solution and will confirm our next steps as soon as possible.

Overview

This consultation will give you the chance to view and discuss the design brief for Walworth Town Hall. We would like to know your thoughts on the brief and any other suggestions you may have.

The new Town Hall will include

  • A new library
  • The Southwark Museum and Cuming Collection
  • A flexible events space
  • Registrars services

 

Why your views matter

We want to know what the local community wants from the new Town Hall, so we can include as many of your ideas as possible in the final design.
