Notification on B1a Article 4 Direction

Overview

We are now out for consultation on the introduction of an Article 4 Direction for the conversion of B1a (office) to C3 (residential) in the Central Activities Zone (CAZ) until 10 May 2018.  

The council has introduced an Article 4 Direction to withdraw the permitted development rights for the change of use from offices (B1a) to residential (C3) in the CAZ. This is in recognition of the geographic, economic and administrative benefits that the CAZ has on the London and UK economy. The Article 4 Direction would prevent the harm of office to residential permitted development rights in the CAZ.
