Article 4 Directions: Public Houses

Overview

The council has made immediate Article 4 Directions to protect traditional public houses across the borough. This is in recognition of the unique community and historic value pubs bring to local communities. The Article 4 Directions remove permitted development rights for the change of use, demolition or alteration of pubs. Planning permission will now be required for any proposed changes as specified to the pubs identified in the Article 4 Directions. A list of pubs can be found in the attached documents.
