Why we are consulting

We are consulting with those listed below;

  • Residents, and their families, living in residential and nursing care homes based in Southwark. This relates to all Adult Social Care client groups.
  • Staff employed in the local care homes
  • Management/Organisational perspective of these care homes

The engagement will be a necessary step to evaluate the current position and to confirm what needs to take place to develop a Southwark Residential Care Charter.  The engagement exercise will enable the Council to gain a better understanding of what is currently working well, the priorities of the three stakeholder groups and feedback on how the new charter is likely to impact upon them.

Care worker – A member of staff who supports you with your daily living needs, e.g. washing, toileting, dressing etc

Corona virus pandemic - Corona virus is a virus that can spread from person- to-person in multiple countries around the world at the same time. It can affect your lungs and airways.   The care home staff will follow new rules to keep residents safe during this time and prevent the virus from spreading.
