Overview

As you may be aware as part of our commitment to deliver 11,000 new council homes within the borough, we have developed proposals for a new housing development on Linden Grove that will provide 27 new homes* subject to planning permission.

As part of those proposals the council will be developing the existing resident laundry room within the footprint of the new building.

Why your views matter

The Council are keen to work with residents of Limes Walk to re-provide this resident amenity by building a new garden room close in size to the exiting laundry room, (17m2) located in the allotment area. 

The Brief:

• Be as close in size to the existing laundry room (17m2)

• Be a one brick clad storey structure

• Be secure as possible, to minimise anti social behaviour

• Provide water and electricity

• Provide residents with space for tools (storage provided to be agreed)

• Provide residents with a space to sit down for coffee and a chat

• The garden room will be single storey with a flat roof

What happens next

We are very pleased to invite you to attend a consultation meeting to discuss and provide feedback on the Garden room, its design and use. There will also be an opportunity to view the final designs for the houses and flats proposed for Linden Grove, with architects on hand to answer any questions.
