Overview

Do you know someone who works hard to improve your community?

We want to recognise those who go the extra mile to help others.

Take a look at the criteria below, and answer three short questions to tell us why you think that they deserve a Housing Heroes Award. You can also download a form from this site, or pick one up from your local library or leisure centre.

You will need to submit personal contact details  so that we can check the eligibility of your nomination. All of this personal data will be destroyed after the Housing Heroes 2018 programme has ended. For further information contact Helen.Laker@southwark.gov.uk.

The deadline for nominations is 19 October 2018.

 

Categories

Neighbour of the Year

An outstanding individual who has done something to make a positive impact in your neighbourhood or community in the past year.

Best Community Initiative

An innovative project or initiative that has helped the local residents and commmunity come together and make life better in the past year.

Young Community Hero

An outstanding young person (under 25 years old) who has done something to make a positive change in their local neighbourhood in the past year.

Customer Service

Somebody who works for Southwark Council or one of its contractors, or for a community organisation, who has delivered excellent customer service to the local community in the past year.

Outstanding Tenants and Residents Association of the Year

An outstanding TRA that has worked to make a positive change in the local neighbourhood in the past year.

Community Safety Initiative

A local community project or initive that has increased safety awareness for the community and made a positive change to making people feel safer.

Lifetime Acheivement

An outstanding individual who has worked to make a positive change to your local neighbourhood or community over several years.

Green Fingers Award

Best gardening project, supported and maintained by volunteers from the surrounding community.

Lifelong Learning Champion

An individual who has helped the community to develop new interests and hobbies - for example, this could include someone who has taken part in courses as a learner or instructor.

Healthy Hero

An outstanding individual who has helped the community by inspiring them to look after their health and wellbeing.
