11,000 New Council Homes - Henslowe Road garages
Overview
Southwark council has made a historic commitment to deliver 11,000 new homes in Southwark by 2043, with 2,500 delivered by 2022. To make this a success we need to know what residents think and make sure residents shape our proposals. This is the key to the delivery of quality housing that improves the local area and the lives of Southwark residents.
As part of our commitment, we are considering the development of new homes on the site of a block of 16 council garages at Henslowe Road SE22 0AS
The scheme proposal is for three 3-bedroom council homes.
Why your views matter
We consult with residents about our proposals as part of our commitment to deliver new council homes. We want residents to be included in choosing the best development option for the area.
The council began the consultation with a drop-in event which took place on 22 October, 2018. Residents had the opportunity to meet the project team and comment on the initial proposals. From there the architects developed further the original proposals taking into account all the feedback which we received. Two project group meetings were also held to take into account residents' views.
A second drop-in event was held on 18 March 2019. The consultation boards shown here were presented to residents at the meeting.
What happens next
Our architects will take into account any further feedback received, and finalise the designs to submit the planning application in May 2019.
