11,000 new council homes - 2 Sedgmoor Place
Results updated 23 Mar 2022
We appointed Neilcott as the building contractors for Sedgmoor Place at the beginning of 2021. Since then, work has been progressing on the site, and the new development should be finished by autumn 2022.
The development will provide 13 new homes, with a mix of one bed, two-bed and three-bed flats. You can view the planning application online here: https://planning.southwark.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=ZZZV0JKBWR932&activeTab=summary
We held ‘Meet the Contractor’ event in February 2021, where residents could meet Neilcott’s team and ask any questions before the building works started. The presentation from this event is at the bottom of the page along with newsletter updates of the scheme from the contractor.

Overview
Southwark Council has made the ambitious commitment to build 11,000 new council homes by 2043, with the first 2,500 delivered by the end of 2022.
We currently have over 300 new homes either completed or under construction in the new homes programme and have been working with residents to identify sites where we could build new homes.
One of the sites where we are proposing to build new homes is 2 Sedgmoor Place as shown in the maps below.

Why your views matter
To make our schemes a success we need to know what residents think and make sure residents shape our proposals. We think this is the key to the delivery of quality homes that also improve the local area and the lives of Southwark residents. We want to hear what you think about our proposal to build on this site. Your feedback is very important and will be used to develop our plans.
What happens next
About a month after the drop in we will set up a new homes project group made up of about nine local residents, including representatives of the local TRA. This group will work with the Council to develop a proposal for the site based on what we have been told so far at the drop in and through this survey.
We will present these proposals to local people at a second drop in and online before we finalise our plans for submission to the Planning Department for approval
