11,000 New Council Homes - Bells Gardens

Closes 28 Mar 2019

Opened 14 Feb 2019

Overview

Southwark Council has made a commitment to deliver 11,000 new homes in Southwark by 2043, with 2,500 delivered by 2022. To make this a success we need to know what residents think and make sure residents shape our proposals.

As part of our commitment, we are considering development on the site located at 19 Buller Close, Bells Gardens:

  • new homes
  • re-provision of the community facility, amenities and multi-use games area.

Why We Are Consulting

We want to hear what you think about the proposals to build on this site. Your feedback is very important and will be used to develop the plans for this site. Please spend a few minutes recording your comments here.

The council began the consultation with a drop-in event which took place on the 13 February. At this drop-in event residents had an opportunity to
meet the project team and architects, discuss what it is like to live in the area, share ideas about the designs and find out what will happen next.

These online consultation pages offer the opportunity to those who were unable to attend the drop-in session to see the architects' boards (please see here) and answer consultation questions.

The council is also setting up a project group (for the new homes and for the community facility) for residents who wish to be more directly involved in the design and development for the site. Those joining the project groups will be expected to attend up to 4 monthly meetings.

Please let us know if you would like to put your name forward for the project group.

The next meeting will be a project group meeting, which will include a short introductory session on how project groups work, and their roles in helping to design the scheme.

We are still keen to have residents volunteer to be part of this project group. Please do get in touch.

The scheduled Project Group date of 7th March has been rescheduled & new date to be advised.
