66 Linden Grove - Laundry room consultation

Closed 19 Oct 2018

Opened 19 Sep 2018

Overview

Dear resident,

As you know, the Council has been working in the design of new homes on the site of the temporary accommodation building at 66 Linden Grove and we have had several meetings with local residents to discuss the proposals. Thank you to all of you for your input and feedback.

The initial proposal included 26 new homes, 21 flats in a block in Linden Grove and 6 terraced houses along the communal yard. However, after careful consideration we believe there is an opportunity for improvement if we include the former laundry room into the site footprint for re-development.

Why your views matter

Before we can go any further with this suggestion, we want to hear what estate residents think about it via ballot. The new proposal aims to create a smooth transition to the existing houses and a secure environment for existing and new residents. We are proposing to demolish the former laundry room and re-provide a new room either in the same location or in the allotment area as the T&RA has previously proposed to convert it into a garden room.

What happens next

After the consultation closes on the 5th of October the project manager Janeth Aguilera and new homes consultation officer Rahala Khalida will analyse the ballot and publish the findings on the consultation hub and write to the residents.

Depending on the ballot feedback the design will either remain the same or amended to incorporate the laundry room into the final building design.
