You said
From 275 valid responses representing an 11% response rate, 53% of respondents were in favour of a parking zone, 39% were against a parking zone and 8% were undecided.
Please see attached report below for the full consultation results.
We did
We have recommended that a parking zone is implemented across the whole area operating Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6.30pm.
The recommendation will now go to the Cabinet Member for Environment and the Public Realm for a decision and then subject to approval, statutory consultation will follow.
Overview
Southwark Council is conducting a parking study in the Thorburn Square study area, shown in orange below.
A parking study is an opportunity for the council to assess the parking issues in a certain area by asking the local residents and businesses how they view parking on their street and whether they would like a parking zone to be introduced.
A parking zone is a network of streets covered by parking controls. Each street is marked out with either parking bays or double yellow lines.
The council will analyse all responses on a road by road basis and make a recommendation to the decision maker.
Any parking controls that we introduce will take into account the results of the consultation as well as existing highway safety issues in the proposed zone, feedback from emergency services, and our wider transport policies reflecting our responsibilities to air quality and active travel.
We would like to hear your views on the proposal. Please read the background documents below and consider the proposed layout before completing the questionnaire online or by post via the freepost address, by 15 November 2017.
