Thames Path Landscaping Improvements

Overview

The Thames Path by Cherry Gardens is a riverside site of approximately 1900m² adjacent to residential properties. It is a linear site with mature planting making up part of the Thames Path.

We want to encourage lots of local people of all ages to feel inspired to use this part of the Thames Path in different ways.

Back in 2019, the council ran a survey asking local residents what type of things would be most important for them in the re-design and improvement of this area of the Thames Path?  Eg colour (painting walls/ground), security, lighting, planting, seating etc.

All the ideas you provided have been shared with the design team who have developed the design options for the area. The design complements the existing layout and location. It also takes account  of the site’s existing value in terms of nature conservation, with a view to enhancing biodiversity value.

Please look at the two options.

Option 1 shows the renewal works we are intending to do.

Option 2 shows additional potential works. We would like your feedback on both.

This will help us finalise the plans and start hard landscaping work in the spring. New planting should happen in the autumn.

This survey should take no more than five minutes to complete and all responses will remain anonymous

Why your views matter

We want to make sure that the final design meets the needs of local residents.
