Rotherhithe Movement Plan - Rotherhithe and Surrey Docks CPZ

Closed 4 Oct 2019

Opened 15 Jul 2019

Overview

We want to hear your views on the planned controlled parking zone for the Rotherhithe and Surrey Docks area.

Up to 3,000 new homes in  the area mean that a controlled parking zone is essential - in particular, this is the only way to enforce the permit-free planning conditions for the Canada Water development, and prevent intolerable additional parking pressures.

The Canada Water development will have a major impact on parking in your area. Without a controlled parking zone, those moving into the new developments - potentially 3,000 new families- will be able to park their vehicles on street causing a large increase in parking stress. Planning conditions that prevent those living in new developments from parking on street can only be enforced if there is already a controlled parking zone in place when the developments are built. This is why it is essential to act now and implement parking restrictions.

We know that a controlled parking zone may not be essential to you at the moment but it will be vital to maintain quality of life for everyone in the area.

We are asking you to let us know the hours of operation and the layout of the new zone so that we can ensure that it meets the needs of as many residents and businesses as possible.

In the additional documents section of this page you will find a map showing what the restrictions may look like and an additional information booklet which will tell you more information about controlled parking zones in Southwark.
