Nunhead controlled parking consultation

Closed 9 Jun 2023

Opened 28 Apr 2023

Overview

Southwark Council is carrying out a public consultation in the Nunhead area to find out your views on the implementation of a permit parking scheme.

Due to the parking pressure expected as a result of new developments in the area and the council's aim to encourage the use of more sustainable modes of transport, we are consulting on permit parking schemes across Southwark, including in your area.

This is your opportunity to have your say:-

  • If you live near a rail station, are commuters parking on your street?
  • Do you often have to park a fair distance from your home?
  • Does any evening or night time activity impact where you park?
  • If you live near a parade of shops or pubs or restaurants does this create problems in the evenings or weekends?
  • Do local parks or other places of interest cause you difficulty parking over the weekend?
  • If you live near a school do you notice a difference in your ability to park during term time or school holidays?

Take part in this consultation and let us know how we can improve your street.

Why your views matter

We want your views on the permit parking scheme proposal in your area.  In particular we want your input on what days and hours you would prefer.

We would be grateful if you could take the time to review the proposal and let us know what you think via the online questionnaire.

Your views are really important to help us make sure the final design meets the needs of the local community.

What happens next

The responses to this consultation will be evaluated and will contribute to the final design phase. This will be submitted to the Cabinet Member for approval, subject to the outcome of statutory consultation.
