Overview

The North Cross Road market is becoming more popular and businesses in the area are growing with more visitors as well as local people using it as their shopping area.

We want to support this growth by:

• Extending the market
• Having a permanent road closure in place every Saturday from Lordship Lane to Archdale Road
• Creating a turning space at the end of Nuffield Road

These proposals will see an increase in the number of trading pitches and add more variety to the shopping experience, including community and entertainment stalls.

We believe the proposed changes will raise the ambience, provide a solution to some of the congestion experienced throughout the market day and address the safety issues that have arisen due to cars crossing the market area.
