North Camberwell Improvements
Overview
We have heard from residents that pavements in the North Camberwell area can be difficult for pedestrians and wheelchair users to use.
Southwark Council will be resurfacing the pavement and road in Benhill Road and Brunswick Park in 2018.
As we have a duty to maintain accessibility for all, we will also use this opportunity to improve the area by widening the pavement where is it currently blocked by mature trees.
Widening the pavement for each tree on Benhill Road and Brunswick Park would mean a reduction of around 21 car parkng spaces on the street.
These works will also consist of lowering the kerbs on several junctions in the area, to make it safer to cross.
These improvements will create a safer environment for all road users.
