You said

Most people who responded thought this was a good idea - but with some concerns about street cleaning, parking and the mix of stalls, among other details.

We did

We are proposing to run a trial of the street market later in spring 2022. The market would operate 10-4 on Saturdays and have no more than 12 stalls. We have launched a new survey (running until 1st March 2022) so that local residents and businesses can tell us any specific considerations and concerns they may have.

Overview

Tell us what you think about proposals for a pilot street market on Melbourne Grove.

We have been approached by local businesses and residents with the idea of a weekend street market on Melbourne Grove, near to the junction with Grove Vale, and now we need to know the views of the wider community.

The market would take advantage of the section of road currently closed to through traffic. It would be an opportunity to bring visitors and new customers to Melbourne Grove and Grove Vale, and could make the area more attractive to residents and businesses.

This would be a temporary feature at this stage - for 3-4 months around autumn 2021 - any subsequent decision to make the market permanent would require further consultation.

Please complete the short survey below - it should take no more than five minutes.

Why your views matter

We want to know what local residents and businesses think about the proposals, and hear any concerns that you may have.
