The Gold and Silver Standard

The private rented sector (PRS) now constitutes a quarter of the housing in Southwark, and plays an important role in meeting the housing requirements of residents. We are focusing on quality improvement in this sector.

We are proposing to introducing a Gold and Silver Standard - this will provide recognition for those landlords who are already exceeding legal requirements, an incentive for others to improve, and information for tenants on the standard of accommodation to expect.
