Burgess Park West

Closed 5 Jun 2016

Opened 9 May 2016

Overview

So far £9million has been invested in Burgess Park. We are now investing a further £4million on the south western area which was not included in the previous revitalisation of the park

Burgess Park West is the new name for the Burgess Park Southern Entrance project. We feel it better describes the project, which is about much more than improving just one entrance to the park.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the two previous public consultations. We have now updated the design based on feedback, further research and estimated costs. The plans include cycle Quietways, a play area, improvements to Rust Square and a bigger nature area. In phase 2, New Church Road will be removed from inside the park.

You can see the plans by following the link below under Related Documents, or come along to one of our exhibitions. The plans are on display at the Burgess Park Community Sports Centre on Cobourg Road which is unstaffed and available during opening hours. At weekends and during half term there will be another exhibition at Chumleigh Gardens off Albany Road (weather permitting) where our Park Ambassadors will be happy to speak to you.

This short survey should only take a few minutes to fill out and all responses will remain anonymous.

What Happens Next

The consultation will close on 5 June.

We expect to publish a report on the results in July, and submit a planning application in August.
