We asked people for their views on proposals to improve the look and feel of Browning Street and make it more accessible for people walking and cycling.
You said
A large majority of you were satisfied that the designs did meet the needs of the community. You also gave us great feedback on how designs could be improved with more greenery.
We did
Following feedback from the survey, we have made some changes to our proposal that better address your concerns and suggestions. We are currently finalising designs based on the feedback and hope for construction to start in summer 2023.

Tell us what you think about proposals for creating a more people-friendly Browning Street.
In 2019 local residents told us in a survey that you want Browning Street to have fewer cars and be an attractive place to stop and rest, where people feel safe.
In 2020 we introduced a traffic filter on Browning Street to help reduce traffic. This car-free space can now be used for other things by the community.
Based on your previous comments, we have come up with some ideas about how the space could be improved and used, and now we’d like your views.
We hope to make Browning Street:
- Easier to cross and walk
- Safer cycling
- Supports local businesses
- Everyone feels welcomed and safe
- Cleaner air
We will use your comments at this initial engagement phase to develop a final proposal which will be presented to local people to comment on through a public consultation.
