Overview

We would like to know what stops you and your family getting online and accessing the information and support you need.

We want to understand why you might struggle to access the web, whether because you can’t connect, you don’t have the right equipment at home or that you don’t feel confident using technology.

This is especially important during the COVID-19 pandemic when residents may have more limited online access because they are only able to access the internet from their homes and are less able to access services and information in person.

In addition we will collect some personal information about you, such as your name and email address to contact you if follow up is needed.

Depending on your circumstances, we may be able to help you and your family better access to the internet.

We will securely store data we collect for two years when we hope that the response to the covid 19 virus is more fully developed.

We respect your trust and privacy, and therefore will not share or sell this data with third parties.

If you choose to respond you will be giving us permission to process your personal data and you can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing the consultation contact address. Your personal information will only be used by the council's Children's and Adults’ Services to process your responses to this survey, and will be securely destroyed after 2 years, however we may keep the anonymised responses to inform other work across the council and Joint Safeguarding Boards.

If you are concerned about how the council uses your personal data or would like to enquire about the personal information we hold on you, please contact us via dpo@southwark.gov.uk or on 020 7525 5000. More information about your rights is available on our website through our Corporate Privacy Notice, or via the Information Commissioner (www.ico.org.uk)

Why your views matter

We want to find out about your experiences so what we do next is shaped by what you tell us.

By filling out this questionnaire, you are helping the council, and organisations we work with, to learn how to better support you and your families and communities access the services and support they need. It will also enable us to improve our range of online activity for work, leisure and education.

What happens next

We will use the information you provide to plan how the council can best support children and families access information and services online from home.
