Proposed Yates Estate and Victory Conservation Area

Overview

Tell us what you think about proposals for a new Yates Estate and Victory Conservation Area, and share your memories and experiences of the area.

At their meeting on the 6th January 2021, the Planning Committee agreed to consult on 5 new conservation areas within the Old Kent Road area.

A conservation area is defined as “an area of special architectural or historic interest, the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance”. We welcome your comments on the proposed designation of the Yates Estate and Victory conservation area.

Yates Estate and Victory Plan

We have also drafted a Conservation Area Appraisal. This document defines and assesses the area’s character and is intended to provide a clear indication of the Council’s approach to the preservation and enhancement of the area and a guide for any future development.  We welcome your comments on the Appraisal also.

Please give us your views using the online form here.

Officers are also available to attend virtual meetings for community groups on request - see contact details here.

We are also consulting on a revised draft of the Old Kent Road Area Action Plan. For more information and to comment on the plan, please visit this page.
